The COAST collection is born: clean lines and timeless designs come together with lightweight, maximum-grip soles.

OUR BEGINNINGS

THE COMPANY IS BORN

It all began in 2016.

Juan Rojo and Francisco Rojo had spent years working in the family business, founded in 1888 and dedicated to the distribution and sale of footwear. They grew up surrounded by lasts, soles and shop counters. Footwear was not just a job: it was part of their story.

Belonging to the baby boomer generation, they carried in their memory the summers of their native Asturias. Summers of sea and green meadows. Long days, changing skies and absolute freedom. Most children wore their “camping” shoes: comfortable, versatile, perfect for both sunshine and the rainy summers of the north.

Heirs to the enthusiasm of those who came before them, they dreamed of creating their own brand. A brand that would bring back that iconic model and reinterpret it for modern times: lighter, more colourful, more comfortable.

That is how PITAS was born: a project with deep roots and a contemporary outlook.

MISSION

Our mission is clear: to create casual footwear with great design, maximum comfort and excellent value for money.

In every collection, we bring trends into our own world, backing a timeless, relaxed and informal design. We want our PITAS to be part of your everyday life, with no unnecessary frills, but plenty of character.

PITAS are understated, yet full of personality; functional, yet stylish. Comfortable, yet full of energy.

We love colour because it conveys optimism and a desire to enjoy life’s good moments.

ASTURIAS

Asturias is not just where we come from. It is our way of understanding life.

It’s nature in its purest form. It’s sea and mountains on the same horizon. It’s strong character and a noble heart. It’s tradition and authenticity.

From Asturias we learned the importance of quality, of doing things properly, and of keeping our feet on the ground. We learned to adapt, to withstand the rain and to enjoy the sunshine when it appears. That balance between strength and simplicity is present in every pair of PITAS.

Over these 10 years, we have reached Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico and the United States. We have crossed borders without losing our roots, taking our way of understanding design and comfort to new horizons.

From the north of Spain to the world, with the same essence we started with: authenticity, closeness and an outdoorsy spirit. Because no matter how far we go, Asturias will always be our starting point.

BRAND

NAME AND LOGO

When we were looking for a name for the brand, we wanted something that spoke of origin, naturalness and character. We wanted something that sounded like home. In Asturias — and in many parts of the north — hens are called “pitas”.
The pita is a country animal, free-ranging and active. It lives outdoors, adapts to its surroundings and moves with ease. It is resilient, approachable and noble. It has personality. It does not go unnoticed. And, in a way, we saw ourselves reflected in it. A familiar, authentic word. One that was ours.

Like our footwear, the pita is made for everyday life. For walking, for enjoying, for moving freely and without fuss. It is simple, yet full of character. Humble, yet confident.

It is endearing and a little irreverent. It has a non-conformist, cheerful and optimistic side. It represents our way of understanding life: with naturalness, closeness and freedom.

From a small corner of Asturias, this free-range hen opens the doors of her coop to the world.
